FDPL is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Library Assistant II. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a passion for public service, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As an LA II you will be responsible for a variety of important tasks that contribute to the smooth daily operations of the library, including circulation, customer service, and program support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Ability to pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screen.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree or some college coursework.
- Previous library or public sector experience.

FDPL’s large meeting room has seating for up to 100 people if necessary, and is available for free during regular library hours on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a lectern, laptop, LCD projector, TV, drop-down screen, and in-ceiling sound system in the room.
The large meeting room’s default set-up is four rows of four tables with eight chairs in each row facing the front and two tables with four chairs at the front of the room facing the back. Additional tables and chairs are stored in a closet in the room and can be used if needed. Groups using the room can arrange the tables and chairs to meet their needs (including taking down the tables) but must return the room to its default set-up when the meeting is over.
