We are offering a variety of fun and interesting programs and activities all summer long for free!

Fort Dodge Public Library's Adult Summer Reading Program is brought to you courtesy of the Friends of the Library & the FD Library Foundation.
Reading Logs:
Pick up your reading log at the Circulation desk. After you've read 4 hours, return it to be entered into the weekly prize drawing. All logs will be entered into the grand prize drawing at the end of the summer.

June 9th, 6:00-7:00 p.m. -- Level Up Your Garden
Come in to paint a terracotta pot and make a polinator watering station that bees and other pollinators can use to drink safely without drowning. Take it hope and place it in your garden, on your deck, or windowsill!
June 16th, 5:30-7:30 p.m. -- Board Game Night
Join us for a fun time with both classic and new board and card games! We have a wide variety available, but you're welcome to bring your own too. With plenty of games to choose from (and tables for multiple games at once), there's sure something for everyone to enjoy!
July 14th, 6:00-7:00 p.m. -- Music of the West African Kora
Sean Gaskell features songs on the kora - a 21 stringed West African Harp. The kora is traditionally played by oral historians known as Griots. Many songs featured on the kora preserve and 800 year history dating back to the founding of the Mande empire.
July 21st, 5:30-7:30 p.m. -- Board game night
Join us for a fun time with both classic and new board and card games! We have a wide variety available, but you're welcome to bring your own too. With plenty of games to choose from (and tables for multiple games at once), there's sure something for everyone to enjoy!
July 24th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. -- After hours mini golf in the library

Join us for a unique evening of mini-golf at the library after hours! Putters and golf balls will be provided for an exciting round of indoor fun. Registration required: Register online, in person, or by phone (515-573-8167 ext. 6224
August 2nd, 10:30 am - 12:00 p.m. -- Taste Test
Can you tell the difference between Lay's and Market Pantry chips? How about Kraft and Great Value cheeses? We'll have a selection of name brand and generic/store brand foods and beverages to see if you can tell which is which!
August 11th, 5:00-7:30 p.m. -- DIY Spa Day
Step into craft your own luxurious self-care essentials. Indulge in the art of creating sugar scrubs, lip balms, exfoliating scrubs, foot soak blends, and even a soothing oatmeal milk for your bath. Plus don't miss out on the chance to win a fabulous door prize!
